James and I went to Austin for the Labor Day weekend. We spent Saturday afternoon on a party boat on Lake Travis with some friends. It was fun, but I think I didn't fit in with the crowd very well since I didn't attempt a keg-stand. Saturday was the Batfest, and the rest of our time was spent eating and exploring the city. I finally got a chance to go to Bookpeople - "The Largest Bookstore in Texas", and also the biggest Whole Foods market I've ever seen. If I lived in Austin, I swear I would go there everyday. Above is a pic of Hut's Hamburgers where we ate dinner yesterday. Hands down - the best burger I've ever had. I highly recommend it. Go there and get some beef.
I also stopped by Hill Country Weavers yesterday to check out the yarn selection. They have some great yarns, and also an extensive library of knitting books. Unfortunately, I didn't pick up any new knitting notions or yarns, as I'm trying to knit up my existing stash...which if my calculations are correct will take me until November 18th, 2067. Sheesh...I've got a lot of fiber.
Tonight is the second meeting of the Central Houston Knitting Circle. I've gotten some emails from interested folks, so I hope we have a little group tonight. If you're in the area, come out and join us.
