So after a few months of sporadic knitting, I'm almost finished with the little baby jacket - "Dang, I'm slow." It sure took me long enough. I plan to pick up stitches and knit the collar and button bands tonight. Hopefully, I'll find the time to finish the whole thing this week. I'm really happy with the way it's turned out, though I'm still undecided about how to add the letter monogram to the front. I'm sure I'll stumble upon some creative inspiration sometime soon.
I picked up some fabrics today at Joann's. I'm planning to pull out the sewing machine and whip up a few stretchy-skirts. I'm a big fan of the elastic waistband skirt. They're so simple and comfortable, and if you decide to stuff yourself with a cheeseburger and fries for lunch, you don't have to worry about your tummy busting out and rolling over. Damn, I love elastic.
Another cool thing about skirts is that they are so easy to make. All you need is a couple yards of some semi-stretchy fabric, some elastic, and a sewing machine. I never even use a pattern. I just use a skirt from my closet as a template, cut out a front and back piece from my fabric, sew up the sides, and add a waistband. Easy peasy instant skirt.
